The south
coast of New South Wales is a truly remarkable area,
with gorgeous beaches and charming seaside villages.
Inland, there's mighty mountains and unspoilt
forests. This drive lets you experience all of it.
Heading south from Sydney down the
famous Hume Highway, you'll reach the quaint
Southern Highlands. With its brisk morning mists and
lush wooded mountains, the Highlands have long been
a favourite weekend refuge for well-heeled
Sydneysiders.
Be sure to drop into the historic village of Berrima,
and the country-chic town of Bowral - an especially
pretty area during the famous tulip festival.
Further south through the Southern Tablelands,
you'll see the picturesque village of Bungendore,
before travelling into Canberra.
Heading east again, and on reaching the coast you'll
find Batemans Bay - a town renowned for surfing,
boating, snorkeling and fishing.
The drive passes through the fishing haven of
Bermagui, before ending at the aptly-named seaside
paradise of Eden. |
